Knowing Your Anti Aging Procedures

What Anti Aging Procedures are out There? Know them!
When talking about the anti aging treatments there is always one that suits your requirements. The need to have anti aging treatments is unavoidable in today’s life but it is very important that you should know the proper procedures of different treatments. In this post we will discuss procedures of some anti aging techniques and their effect.

Eye Bag Removal Surgery Procedure

Through this procedure the fat of eye is reduced and the sagging and drooping of skin around eye can be lifted up. The natural crease of the eyelid is incision-ed while operating the upper eyelids. This can also be used to remove the lines which resemble the crow's feet also called laughter lines present at the outer corner of the eyes. After the incision the skin is separated from the internal layers containing fat and the excess fat is removed from the inside of the eye. The sagging layers of muscle tissues and skin are also toned or trimmed later the incisions are stitched closed with the help of fine sutures.

The lower part of the eyelids are operated in the same manner. The underneath of eyelashes is incised up to the laughter lines area and then the skin is stretched outwards gently to tension the area and to overlap the removed skin. The open area of incision is stitch closed with the help of fine sutures.

This is called Blepharoplasty which is considered to be one of the most popular cosmetic surgical procedures. The operation will take maximum 3 hours. General anaesthesia and a night’s stay are required. You can experience some bruising and swelling because of the operation but it will subside after ten days. Scars can emerge as the after effects. After the surgery at least 10 days rest time is suggested.

Brow Lift Surgery

It is done to give the forehead and brow area of face a youthful look. It helps in correcting the droopy eyebrows, loose skin and the lines on forehead and to do this the skin on forehead is lifted.

At least 4 incisions, an inch long, are made behind the hairline will, through which an endoscope is inserted in those incisions. This camera, attached to a TV monitor, helps the surgeon to see the muscles and tissues beneath the skin. During the 1 to 2 hours of operation some of the muscles or tissues are removed from underneath the skin to smooth it. On closing the incisions the skin is lifted again giving an additional life to the brow.

This surgery requires an overnight stay at hospital. The side effects of this surgery could be numbness and mild swelling which can be easily controlled by medicines. The patient may get scars which will fade out in 3 to 6 months’ time. Monthly follow check ups are required. The average recovery time is between two to three weeks depending on the individual patient.

Facelift, Rhytidectomy

Rhytidectomy or facelift reduces visible signs of aging. A facelift helps to look younger by firming the loose skin on your face and neck and tightens underlying tissue. General anaesthesia is given for the surgery in which the excess facial skin is removed from neck, chin and cheek.

The incision in this particular surgery starts from high in the temple area and follows down the curves in front of the ear round the earlobe and up behind the ear before curving gently back into the hair again. Such incisions are made on both sides of the face along with one under the chin. Like other surgeries the skin and deep tissues are remodelled and stitches are done on the incisions and metal clips may be used on the scalp. The scars will fade over 3 to 6 months.

The surgery takes 1 to 2 hours following 1 to 2 days stay at hospital. Some bruising or swelling may be experienced but it will fade out.

Any drainage tube will normally be removed after a day or two and bandages are removed after 1-5 days. Your stitches will be removed after 5 days and any metal clips in scalp are removed after 2 weeks. You will have follow-up visits in the months after surgery to check on your progress. The patient of this surgery recovers between two to three weeks.

Fat injections or Fat Grafting

Fat grafting or fat injections is very effective in removing acne scars and even for wrinkles. In this technique the fat of some part of the body is grafted into another through injections which helps in stretch youthful skin.

The areas to treat with this method are most of the times crows feet or laughter lines. This technique is used very effectively for removing acne and other kinds of scars, laughter and furrows, wrinkles and sunken cheeks.

The whole procedure is done in many steps. The donor area from where the fat is to be taken is first cleansed prior getting anesthetized. The donor fat is then grafted with the help of liposuction tube commonly from the hips or abdomen area. After extraction the fat is then aspirated and rinse in saline to get rid of the damaged cells before injecting to the working area. The cleaned fat is then injected into the area where fat injection is required i.e. under the eyes, cheeks, the lips etc.

The injected fat dissolves in 3-6 months’ time period. The treatment takes 90 minutes and the transfer requires a number of injections. The patient experiences redness and swelling for the first 24-72 hours.

Knowing your anti aging procedure is vital before getting into any kind of surgery as this will give a clear understanding of what you will be facing during the procedure.
